AccelerateMS Launches Reconnect 2.0 Grant Opportunity to Expand Workforce Training

JACKSON, Miss. — October 23, 2025 – AccelerateMS has released the Mississippi Reconnect 2.0, offering $5 million in grant funding to expand accelerated workforce training opportunities across the state.

The initiative seeks proposals from Mississippi’s local workforce areas, community colleges, and higher education institutions to provide short-term training—lasting up to eight weeks—in high-demand occupations, including plumbing, electrical work, machining, emergency medical services, and commercial construction.

Reconnect 2.0 aims to engage unemployed, underemployed, and high school students in training that leads directly to employment, industry-recognized credentials, and long-term career pathways. Programs must align with AccelerateMS priority occupations and demonstrate strong partnerships with employers.

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis beginning October 24, 2025, with reviews starting December 1, 2025, or until funds are exhausted.
