Nurse Navigator

The purpose of this program is to hire professionals, or navigators, to provide individual assistance and guidance to students to assist them in many areas, from maneuvering challenges while enrolled in college programs and understanding the job market to working through course challenges, and helping retain and graduate nursing and allied health students at community and junior colleges.

The Navigators play a crucial role in assisting students in their nursing journey through college, offering intentional interventions, coaching, and support to enhance student achievement. The program aims to increase student persistence, success, and completion, with a focus on preparing students for the NCLEX-RN and NCLEX-PN Next-Gen exams to become licensed healthcare practitioners. The overall goal is to optimize the impact of allocated funds and ensure effective student support across Mississippi’s community colleges in high-need occupations.
