While some say New Year’s resolutions are made to be broken, we see them as an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to progress. By working together with legislators, educators, and industry partners, we’re driving meaningful change. Here are a few of our resolutions for 2025 to continue building Mississippi’s human capital.  

Deepen Collaboration with Stakeholders 

Host annual roundtables with legislators, educators, and industry leaders to ensure alignment on workforce development goals to strengthen cross-sector understanding and create actionable policies that address local workforce needs.  

Enhance Workforce Training Programs 

Continue to expand access to high-demand skills training, particularly in rural areas and for underrepresented communities and increasing economic mobility for Mississippians by providing equitable opportunities for employment in growing industries. 

Foster Data-Driven Decision-Making 

Build stronger partnerships with data providers to measure the long-term impact of education and workforce programs. 

Promote Pathways to Prosperity 

Increase awareness of career opportunities in high-demand sectors. Empower students, job seekers, and career changers to make informed decisions about their futures. 

Invest in Future-Proof Industries 

Advocate for state investments in emerging sectors like advanced manufacturing, green energy, and technology. Utilize Talent Solutions to attract new industries to Mississippi, creating jobs and stimulating the economy. 

Address Verified Barriers to Employment 

Collaborate with legislators to address systemic barriers, such as transportation, childcare, or credential recognition. Help more Mississippians enter and stay in the workforce, driving state-wide prosperity. 

Impact of Funded Projects 

Evaluating the impact of projects funded and producing comprehensive reports to show project outcomes to ensure transparency, accountability and continuous improvement.
