AccelerateMS Welcomes Dr. Angenette Dixon as Program Manager for Special Funds

JACKSON, Miss.— AccelerateMS, Mississippi’s lead office for workforce development strategy and coordination, has appointed Dr. Angenette Dixon as Program Manager for special funds.  

In this role, she will oversee ARPA fund management, strengthen financial oversight, and maximize the impact of ARPA-funded workforce initiatives. 

Dr. Dixon brings extensive experience in federally funded program management, ensuring compliance, monitoring expenditures, and fostering strategic collaborations.  

She will also serve as a key liaison to subrecipients and stakeholders, supporting transparency and accountability in workforce funding. 

“Angenette’s expertise in grants management and compliance will be invaluable in advancing our mission to create equitable workforce opportunities for all Mississippians,” said Shelika Hooker, Director of Grants Management at AccelerateMS. 

Before joining AccelerateMS, Dr. Dixon served as a grants compliance specialist with the Mississippi Community College Board and a research associate at Jackson State University.  

She holds a Ph.D. in Education Administration and Supervision from Jackson State University, an M.S. in Educational Psychology from Mississippi State University, and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Mississippi.
