State Workforce Investment Board
Mississippi elected officials took a bold step towards organizing Mississippi’s workforce development efforts more strategically and efficiently in 2020 by passing a law creating the Office of Workforce Development.
Mississippi's State Workforce Investment Board is created according to MS Code Section 37-153-7 and the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act to serve as an advisory board to the Office of Workforce Development (i.e. AccelerateMS), to monitor publicly-funded workforce development programs, and to recommend strategies and policies that enhance coordination among programs and activities towards continuous improvement of Mississippi's complex workforce development system.
