AccelerateMS Announces Key Hires to Advance Workforce Training and Development

JACKSON, MS — AccelerateMS, Mississippi’s office for workforce development strategy and coordination, is excited to welcome two dynamic professionals to its team: Dwight Herlong as Coordinator serving Ecosystems 4 & 6 and Ty McCearley as Training Operations Manager.  

Herlong is an accomplished, global operations executive, with strong general management skills with almost two decades of entrepreneurial, corporate management, and strategy consulting experience. 

In his new role, he will manage a variety of projects and support local economic and workforce development activities across 27 counties throughout East and Central Mississippi.  

Herlong joins AccelerateMS from Kindred AI, where he served as the Chief Operations Officer and he is the founder and CEO of Ladders Services, a global retail operations consulting practice. Additionally, he was the Global Head of Retail Logistics and Store Operations for Google, the Vice President of Integrated Supply Chain for T-Mobile, and the Group Vice President of Direct-to-Consumer Logistics for Macy’s.  

He holds a Master of Science in Organizational Behavior & Development from Georgia State University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Delta State University.  

McCearley joins AccelerateMS with over a decade of experience, specializing in talent management, workforce engagement, and talent mobility programs – helping organizations optimize their workforce and performance issues to drive business success. 

In his new role, he is responsible for developing and implementing customized training solutions tailored to meet the unique needs of new and expanding companies in Mississippi. 

Before joining AccelerateMS, he was the Director of Learning & Organizational Development at Elite Robotics & Engineering Corp, spearheading enterprise organizational development strategies, including recruitment, engagement, and human capital development.  

He previously served as the Executive Principal Consultant at DING! Learning Consulting, and the Director of Learning and Development at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort and Casino. He has also worked for Wayfair, Kestra Financial, and JPMorgan Chase & Co. 

A certified Project Management Professional, McCearley holds a Master of Science in Human Capital Development from the University of Southern Mississippi.
