Maritime jobs are a rising tide in Mississippi! With a strong Blue Economy foundation and advancement of new technologies, the state is positioned to grow even more in maritime-related companies and jobs. To support those here today and in the future, new career pathways and workforce training is happening and being created in areas such as hydrography, uncrewed maritime vehicles (drones of the sea), and artificial intelligence.

Just one example, high school students at Hancock High School's Career Technical Center can learn more about the opportunities in hydrography, move on to earn an associate’s degree through Pearl River Community College or bachelor’s degree from the The University of Southern Mississippi OR go to work after they graduate at any of those levels. #MaritimeMonth
