Trey Smith named Director of Talent Solutions at AccelerateMS
The Navy’s Marine Industrial Base (MIB) group will be hosting an Industry Day Webinar from 9 a.m.-noon, Wednesday, July 16, for Mississippi companies wanting to become a MIB/DoD supplier in support of ship and submarine building. The webinar will feature information and discussions on direct pathways into partnership with MIB shipbuilders and suppliers.
MIB has identified the following major categories where sourcing is especially needed, but it is not all that they are looking for:
Valves/ Fittings
Pumps
Major Mechanical
Electrical
Forgings & Castings

For more than 20 years, Bollinger Shipyards has proudly supported the children of our employees in pursuing higher education. Since the program’s inception, we’ve awarded over half a million dollars in college scholarships—a reflection of our deep commitment to education, opportunity, and workforce development.
In 2025, we awarded nearly $30,000 in scholarships, our largest investment yet, and for the first time, saw a record number of trade school recipients.
This year’s awards include:
• 5 Community College Scholarships
• 6 Scholarships for Four-Year Universities
